Curious Perro is a view of our world through this Gringo’s eyes: My video lens, my mind and thoughts and ideas; and through my words. My travels, encounters, adventures, activities and research come to you through videos on YouTube, musings on Facebook and this, my new Blog and website.
Many of the fascinating topics and discoveries that I would like to delve into are best presented with the written word – Making the Curious Perro Blog a tremendous platform.
This Blog and website present one man’s view of our world; not political or controversial, but rather full of wonderment and awe. I will explore diverse cultures and together we will take in incredible sights through images and videos. These trips will include travels around the world, personal adventures, events, cultural foods and the lore stemming from those who came before us.
Traveling the World
When traveling to exotic islands and countries of the Americas – North, Central and South – we will discover the regional differences. We will learn about people through their culture, art food and their surroundings. Taking excursions to discover the activities and events which make these places distinctive today and investigate the interesting history of people from the past that made these places significant and unique.
Within the United States there are places with plentiful history and legend. From the National Parks to little hole-in-the-wall spots, Curious Perro will share stories and images that can catapult you there. We are always looking for intriguing things that surround us in our everyday lives. As is attributed to famous golfer, Walter Hagen, “You’re only here for a short visit” so don’t forget to stop and smell the roses.
Traveling teases our senses with smells and tastes through the natural beauty we encounter. The feel of the wind, the ocean and beaches or the cold snow and rough rocks all tantalize our soul. These sensations along with the sounds of beautiful music and laughter can bring a smile to any curmudgeon.
I want you to understand and feel what it would be like to travel to these places. In essence, learning what to expect before you take a vacation or trip to these wonderful lands.
Arts & History
Curious Perro thrives on the creations of humans. Books, paintings, sculptures, street art, music are but a few of the mediums that transfix our attention to the greater things in life. These demonstrations of the human spirit and creativity are truly awesome.
One can’t escape some of the irony of kitsch art and objects which can demonstrate excessive garishness or sentimentality. These are also loved with a wry smile by Curious Perro.
There are so many talented and creative people we will meet together. Like this Gringo I hope you are open to new adventures and experiences.
Activities, Adventures and Events
Curious Perro is not one to skip on an adventure; however, there will be no attempts at death defying feats. After all Curious Perro is an OG. Though most of these activities and events are best shown through YouTube or Facebook, this Blog will take us behind the scenes with a little bit of history and background.
Visiting venues, stadiums and arenas for musical concerts or watching sporting events will be featured. We hope to be able to show a fútbol game from the stands in South America or a bull fight in Mexico – these would be once-in-a-lifetime events. We can’t forget horse shows, rodeos and team roping contests.
In the fall we plan to visit some dirt track races and follow along on dune buggy racing in the sands near the California-Arizona border. One must always be open to the adventures around us.
