In early December Curious Perro traveled to San Andrés Island just two weeks after the island was hit by hurricanes Eta and Iota. See how the residents of San Andres Island are overcoming the hurricanes Eta and Iota.
There was massive destruction on the residential side of the island. I posted the video below on the Curious Perro YouTube channel showing some of what I saw.
My travel companion and I were surprised and horrified at the difference between the tourist side of the island and the residential side of the island.
On Curious Perro Blog, we also have another article about San Andrés Island which explores more of the fun aspects of the island – San Andrés Island: Colombian Island with a Caribbean Twist. Check It Out!!!
We soon came to realize why our original reservations with the Hotel Decameron San Luis had been changed to their upper scale Hotel Decameron Aquarium. Decameron was still overcoming the damage caused by the hurricanes on their San Luis property. Below is the view from our hotel – serene and calm – it is hard to believe.
