I decided it was time to make a change. My attempts to meet a Latina using online dating sites in the United States failed. And there seemed to be only one answer.
I Must Go Where the Latinas Live
I realized that with my new found independence, I could actually travel to foreign countries. So where could I travel to meet Latinas? Mexico and Central America were out – too dangerous and too close to the United States. So I started researching the countries in South American and looking for methods to meet the women that lived there.
At first, I used Google to locate geographical maps and gain general information on the many South American countries. Then I began watching YouTube videos to see these countries with my own eyes. I also listened intently to how these countries were described.
I wasn’t going to travel, such a long distance, by myself without knowing everything possible before I arrived. There were hundreds, maybe even thousands, of YouTube videos about countries in South America. Secondly, I investigated dating sites to gain accessibility to women in South America.
At first I found, the now defunct, AmoLatina.com. It enabled me to talk (message) to women located in South America and Mexico. In a very short period of time, I realized that this site was a scam. Instead of creating opportunities to meet these women, I had to pay by the message to communicate with them. This site transformed into Dating.com where you can message women around the world. It is still as scam and the women are only available through the site.
Online Dating is an Eye Opening Experience
Through my experience with online dating, I had learned about many unsavory realities such as “web models” also called “camgirls”. These are women who want you to pay them money to see them naked online or maybe they will send you digital pictures. I had also heard about sites dedicated to “mail order brides” but never encountered these. Online dating is such a strange and eye opening activity. You must be careful.
Having checking out numerous dating sites with names like latinamericancupid.com, mexicancupid.com, internationalcupid.com and, the less direct, cupid.com, I eventually found colombiancupid.com. No other South American country has its own dating site.
I have heard that Colombian women are the most beautiful women in the world. What I learned is that Colombian women are very traditional when it comes to marriage and commitment. So the question remained:
Is ColombianCupid.com a Legitimate Dating Site?
I joined ColombianCupid.com and paid for a six month subscription. If I remember correctly, it cost me $45.00. There were hundreds of Latinas on this dating site. I, as a Gringo, had to be careful. Though almost all of the women were willing to talk with me, many were only interested in my money or other scams. Note: I would communicate with them on the website using translated Spanish.
A Game Plan
It was time that I came up with a game plan. Not only did I need to learn as much as possible to travel to Colombia, I also need to be able to filter through the many Latinas that I was coming into contact with.
This is the checklist I used to narrow down the Colombian women that I talked to regularly:
- Must be a beautiful Latina
- Interested in me as a man, not a source of money
- Must speak some English
- Willing to travel and have fun
- Not interested in having any more children
I learned from the YouTube videos that Colombian women were willing to share their cell phone numbers through a communications app called WhatsApp.
WhatsApp was the game changer. I would get a woman’s cell phone number on ColombianCupid.com and then we would communicate on WhatsApp. It offers texting, video chatting, voice calls and the ability to send pictures and short videos. All this is FREE. Note: This app is now owned and operated by Apple.
Success is Realized
I started using ColombianCupid.com in late November 2018 and by May 2019, I let my subscription lapse due to so much success. I meet some very nice Latinas in Colombia. And thus far, I’ve traveled to both Cartagena and Medellin with plans to return very soon.
